Updated 05.13.20 :: A Fourth of July tradition for the City of Linton will not be held this June/July. 02.13.20 :: The annual celebration brings together the Linton community and many return home for the July 4th celebration. Many events take place the week leading up to Independence Day including arts & crafts exhibits, live bands, horse-pulls, the Little Miss & Little Mister Linton Contest, and a nightly carnival. Many food vendors come together with tasty treats and the Bandstand is a favorite that supports the Linton-Stockton Band Department.
As the sun begins to rise, the famous Civitan ham and egg breakfast at the Linton Fire Department kicks off the July 4th festivities. The Linton Freedom Festival Parade (aka “Indiana’s Largest Independence Day Parade) steps off at 10 a.m. Nearing 40,000 people together from all over Indiana are brought together to enjoy local high school marching bands, floats, baseball and softball teams and more. The evening ends with a large fireworks display over Humphreys Park to celebrate the end of our Nation’s Birthday.
