Life can be funny. For the Johnson’s it all started when Mary Ann wanted to put up a Christmas Star on the front of the house four years ago. Husband Ken, who just so happens to be an engineer, asked her if she wanted his help. The rest is history. Their rural Scotland, Indiana home has never been the same. Now Hoosiers flock to the INDOT garage across the street to just watch many of the 35 songs play which are accompanied by synchronized lights.
This is one of those displays where you need to sit back and take it all in. There is too much to see if you get too close. It is worth every mile it takes to commute to this Greene County display after all. How many times do you get the opportunity to show your children two talking Christmas trees who serve as your master of ceremonies.

It was a joy to meet both of them. We are so proud to announce they are the winners of the first annual “Let Your Lights Shine” Holiday Outdoor Decorating Contest. We enjoyed driving around the county to see all the entries. Now let’s let you see the Johnson’s creation and why they captured the Grand Prize of $100 which by the way they are planning to donate to WonderLab Children’s Museum in Bloomington.
Check it out at 1505 E County Line Road, Newberry, Indiana and be sure to tune in to 107.1 FM.
